Taper's Wife
There are pros and cons to being a Taper's Wife.
Cons:
1. its a pain in the but to have to be quiet at most shows (especially when its a band/person that you are really excited about seeing)
2. its a pain to have to get to the venue 5 hrs early (yes that is exhagerated a bit) to "set up" (which really means, set up for 15 minutes and then sit there while your husband talks taper to all the other tapers...or sit quietly while people come up and ask for an email address, or offer theirs...or praise your husband for being the COOLEST PERSON EVER, and all you can think about is the fact that the "COOLEST PERSON EVER" likes to fart in bed ;))
3. Being completely overlooked most of the time, UNTIL they find out that you are a Taper's Wife..and THEN you have something to offer apparently.
4. When someone that you havent talked to in months, comes out of the woodworks wanting something because they know that you are a Taper's Wife and "might" be able to put in a good word, or something.
5. HAVING to go to shows that you arent real jazzed about because someone has successfully begged your husband to go and tape it, because "the show wont get taped if he doesnt" (though, i can forgive that one because it just means that ICE really likes to tape, and is SUCH a nice guy that he would do that for someone).
6. Having to always trade back when you get like first or second row seats (because the "good" taping seats are about 8 rows back, either in front of a stack, or dead center)
Pros:
1. GREAT SEATS (within 10 rows) to EVERY show you go to.
2. Being able to get tickets to shows that you are shut out of.
3. Copies of every show you ever go to in a matter of minutes after the show....or wanting a copy of a show that you went to 3 years ago, and being able to get it within minutes.
4. Its an interesting hobby, so ya learn stuff you normally wouldnt learn.
5. (and this is the NUMBER one reason this week) GETTING TO SEE JASON MRAZ TOMORROW NIGHT WITH ONLY 500 OTHER PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
So yeah...very cool...some dude (love that term) contacted Bobbo, asking him if he and ICE would be able to tape Jason Mraz when he comes to their school, if they were to be put "on the list". Well, yes, of course, my husband replies to the dude..."BUT, I cant go without my wife"(awww...he knows how to get brownie points, AND stay out of trouble ;)). SO, apparently, Bobbo cant go, and so...we are on the list. jason mraz, tomorrow night, indy, with only 500 other people. NICE. A great perk! :)
