okay...so...i took off last week to AZ. i was gone from work on friday and monday. i have asked that i NOT be paid for those two days, and that they NOT go towards my vacation and personal days. okay...well, the end of the StagepieceofshitOne's fiscal year happened to be May 31, 2003...so June 1, I got all new vacation days. well, apparently i had one full sick day in last fiscal year left, so that went towards Friday's absense. Which...fine...i can't use that day now anyway since they don't roll over. So...last monday..i have said "NO...i do not want to use it towards any vacation time, any sick time, any personal time. just simply DON'T PAY ME FOR THAT DAY!." nope...they are MAKING me use one of my personal days! yes, MAKING me!
i ask...is that possible? and what the fuck is the harm to them if i am not paid for that day. seems to me that they would be glad that they get to keep that money! I mean...they are financially troubled to the point of getting rid of people (under the "we are broke and cant afford your position, so you are fired" guise. just to clarify and not confuse those playing along this is NOT what happened yesterday, they just fired someone). So, wouldnt it be a GOOD thing that they dont have to spend money or pay me money for a day that i wasnt even here?
that is such bullshit to "MAKE" me use one of my days off. can they do that? uhg. fine. make me take a day off. i pray to GOD that i am not here long enough in the year to run out of them! this is a non-profit ARTS organization, and they run it like its corporate bullshit. i have been wanting to sell out and get out of non-profit ever since sundance. right now the money for selling out would be worth it to me...but working for a NON-PROFIT ARTS organization and making no money and STILL having to live by the selling out corporate rules is just bullshit to me. not to mention...its a friggin' arts organization...artsy people DONT live by the "rules" by nature...isnt that the point? if they would just let people go...and do their work and not focus on all this bullshit crap, they would have a MUCH better orgaization...and i would bet my life that it would be making money right now, not losing it like it is!
